What we are not, and what we don't do

What we are not

  • Not a hospital, clinic or medical provider.
  • Not appointed by, affiliated with, or representing any government body, hospital or clinic. China Assist is an independent private business, run by a sole proprietor.
  • Not an emergency service. In mainland China, call 120.
  • Not medical interpreters. Our companions relay what is said faithfully and as accurately as possible, but they are not medical interpreters.
  • Not a travel agency or transport provider. We do not provide vehicles, hotels or travel packages.
  • Not an insurance agent. We don't handle insurance claims.

What we don't do

  • We don't diagnose, treat, interpret results or give medical advice.
  • We don't recommend, rank or compare hospitals, doctors, treatments or medicines. We go with you to the hospital or clinic you have chosen.
  • We don't sign anything or make any decision for you.
  • We don't collect, hold or advance your medical fees. You pay the hospital or clinic directly.
  • We don't buy, resell or fast-track appointment slots, and we can't guarantee a particular doctor, time or that a hospital will accept you.
  • We don't accept commissions, referral fees or gifts from hospitals, clinics, pharmacies or other providers.
  • We don't advise on visas. Please check with the immigration authorities.
  • We don't publish made-up reviews.

When a conversation goes beyond what we can relay

If a discussion goes beyond what your companion can relay reliably, for example a diagnosis, treatment options, surgery or a consent form, your companion will say so, pause, and ask the hospital for its own qualified language support or translated documents before you continue.

Visits we can't support

  • Emergencies, or anyone who is acutely unwell or unstable
  • Visits that need nursing care, medical procedures by us, or patient transport
  • Inpatient or overnight stays

  • 不是医院、诊所或医疗机构。
  • 未获任何政府机关、医院或诊所指定，与它们没有隶属关系，也不代表它们。China Assist 是独立的私营经营者（个人经营）。
  • 不是急救服务。在中国大陆遇到紧急情况，请拨打 120。
  • 不是医疗口译员。陪同员会尽可能如实、准确地转述，但他们不是医疗口译员。
  • 不是旅行社或运输服务商。我们不提供车辆、酒店或旅行套餐。
  • 不是保险代理。我们不代办保险理赔。

我们不做

  • 不诊断、不治疗、不解读检查结果、不提供医疗建议。
  • 不推荐、不排名、不比较医院、医生、治疗方案或药品，只陪您去您自己选定的医院或诊所。
  • 不代您签字，不替您做任何决定。
  • 不代收、不保管、不垫付医疗费，医疗费由您直接付给医院或诊所。
  • 不买号、不倒号、不加急，也不保证约到指定医生、时段，或保证医院一定接诊。
  • 不收取医院、诊所、药房或其他机构的任何佣金、介绍费或礼品。
  • 不提供签证意见，请向出入境管理部门咨询。
  • 不发布编造的评价。

超出转述能力时

如果对话超出陪同员能可靠转述的范围，例如诊断、治疗方案、手术或知情同意书，陪同员会如实说明并暂停，请医院提供其合格的语言支持或书面译本，之后再继续。

我们无法承接的情况

  • 急症，或病情急、不稳定的情况
  • 需要护理操作、由我们实施医疗操作或转运病人的情况
  • 住院或过夜陪护
